Well I have to say that we had a fantastic Easter weekend spent camping in Cobram on the Murray River. For those of you that don't know, the Murray River divides Victoria and New South Whales. It was gorgeous weather (as you can see in the pics). We spent the days relaxing, starring at the river, a couple of walks, Koala spotting, had a mini 4x4 tour from Paul ;), Dan and I floated down the river on some blow up mattresses on one of the days and of course lots of playing with Junior.
Junior had a 'ball' of time (hehe), played soccer on the beach everyday with Dan.
This was on the way home behind my seat in the car, Junior absolutely wore himself out, he slept for a good few days after we got back. He pretty much didn't stop all day everyday until we put him to bed in his crate at night.
Playing soccer with Dan, he loved it and loves the water :)
Cockatoo feather, loved the yellow with the white.
Love this pic, pretty much sums up Juniors weekend.
Morning mist burning off the river, very pretty.
One of the locals :) Mr. Koala. When we went for a drive around (with a bit of 4x4) I spotted two, so cool!
Our set up with a beach front view :) From Left to Right: Our set up with the dome and ten behind. Sue and Rob with the Caravan and then Paul and Rel in the green tent trailer. Not bad hey?! :)
The longer I live in this country the more I fall in love with its surroundings. So beautiful in such an Aussie way.
Easter dinner time....YUM! Paul cooked the potatoes on the bbq and steamed up the veggies.
Dan cooked the damper on the fire (in the foil on the right). It's basically a loaf of bread cooked from scratch, in foil on the fire.
Sue cooked our yummy chicken roast over the fire...YUM!
Easter roast dinner, camping style. It tastes SO much better cooked like this and eating it outside, yum, just thinking of it is making me hungry!
Rel with her new cowgirl hat ;)
I bought a new hat too ;) LOL! Actually Dan bought it, I thought I'd try it out, I think it looks good?!
Say cheeeeeessseeee :D
Got to enjoy a beautiful sunset every evening, took some photos on the last evening. Stunning :)
hehe, love this shot! Junior missed Paul when he left him to go down to the water, so he just laid there and waited for him to come back :) Too cute.
Another stunning shot :)
Junior decided he wanted to have a drink too, of Dan's drink, hehe, yup, he still likes the taste of alcohol. (we're not irresponsible, he only had a few licks for those of you thinking our dogs an alcoholic;)
Rel having a snooze in front of the fire, cowboy style after a very filling Easter dinner. It's hard work doing nothing all day but enjoying the sunshine.
I think we would definitely love to go back there next year, love the fact that it was warm enough (mid 20's) to swim everyday! Plus was great that we got to have a proper bath rather than a bucket bath each day. Although, sitting in the port-a-loo, only to realise there's a massive HUNTSMAN SPIDER sitting on the wall across from me (about the size of my palm) was not the highlight of my weekend!! Of course I was already sitting when I saw it, trying to contain myself to get out of there as quickly as I could without peeing all over myself was very hard! LOL! Luckily my lovely husband to be did a spider spot check every time before I went in there for the toilet after that incident. hehe. I'm so lucky to have him <3 p="">
Unfortunately I've been quite sick lately so I was a bit of a drain on the camping weekend but it was still nice to get out of the house and relax in the sunshine/fresh air. I was fighting glandular fever (mono for those of you in North America, or the 'kissing' disease). Luckily I don't have it anymore but it was followed right after with a viral infection which is what I'm trying to get over right now coupled with the aftermath of gf (tiredness and loss of appetite) which apparently can last a couple of weeks to a few months after, yay for me! Probably been 3-4 weeks that I've been feeling pretty crap, today's the first day when I've felt an ounce of normality (yay!) so I'm seeing a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.
Luckily I'm on school holidays at the moment, still have one more week left so it's given me lots of time to recover. I haven't had much energy to do much of anything but wander from the couch to bed as of late, yay for a bit of energy today! Usually crash about mid-afternoon and in bed early for a good 12+hour sleep. I also haven't been working, been watching lots of movies, have to get some more soon, I think I've almost watched all of the ones I have :P
I can't believe there's only 5 and a bit months left until our wedding!!!! OMG!! I'm SO excited and then I start thinking, oh my goodness we still have so much to do. I'm sure we'll get there, we'll have to right?! hehe, we're both super excited and now that everyone is starting to book their plane tickets and accommodation I'm even more excited to see you all and share such a special event with you! We're off next weekend to find an outfit for Dan and the groomsmen, get some ideas, hopefully we'll find something. I've also finally got my wedding band, yay! :) Bit by bit :)
Not too much else is going on, this and that, the usual. Oh, Junior's got a nasty little infection on one of his back legs :( Poor thing. Not sure really how it started but I think it started with a bug bite that got infected. He's sucked the bank dry again this pay for the vet bill, sigh, oh well, we still love him to bits. I've still got a bit of homework to do for school (haven't done much of anything yet), hopefully this coming week I'll have a bit more energy/focus and be able to get it done. Still loving school! :) Looking forward to going back. I did ask to pick up a few extra shifts over the break, but I wasn't given any, in hindsight it's lucky b/c I wouldn't of been able to work them anyway. The universe must of been telling me something?! Or it knew anyway.
Ok, best get going, time for a little snooze I think, or at least the couch. Love to you all and a very belated
xxxoo HAPPY EASTER xxxoo
