Time for another one...

I suppose I owe you all a new update since my last one was a couple of weeks ago :P Sorry, been a bit busy/slack.

So I signed up for a beginners floristry course last week. Exciting!! It starts at the beginning of February, once a week for four weeks and I get to take home my arrangement every week. I'm looking forward to trying something new and fun! Maybe even meat some people?! And if I enjoy it enough which I really hope I do, I will either try and get a job in the industry, work my way up or go to school and get certified. So we will see :) I'm just excited to play :P

Our new (well it's a '97, but new to us) broke down last week as well. The clutch pedal stopped working on me in the middle of traffic. Frustrating! It turns out it had something to do with the pin in the pedal breaking, but when the mechanic opened it up to find out what had happened, he saw that the clutch was going as well, so the entire clutch got replaced. Ouch! Suppose it was going to go sooner or later and we saved on labour costs.

Tonka also had his button taken off his eye this past week, he was so happy for that as you could imagine and I was too! But his eye hasn't healed itself!! The vet said he's done all he can do and now he has to go and see an eye specialist. Well I'm sure you could imagine that they're not cheap, so we're going to hold off for a week or two with the hopes of it healing itself. We'll just have to wait and see. It's so annoying!! If only dogs could talk so they could tell you how they feel/what's going on. hahaha.

I had a horrible encounter with a BIG ASS SPIDER yesterday! :( I was getting in the car to head home from work and there it was inside the door frame. I tried to kill it with a stick but missed and it scooted inside the car. So I went back into work to get the Raid to try and fumigate it out but I couldn't find it, so my boss, seeing how scared I was of them, tried to find it and kill, but she didn't. So I thought, well, I'll just have to get in and drive home. Got in the car, started backing out and then the damn thing started crawling around my feet!!! YUK!! Of course I screamed and flailed, accidently hitting the horn, knocking my sunglasses off my face and taking my foot off the pedals. Not a good idea. I managed to put the car in park and booted it out of there as fast as humanly possible! I then chased it around the inside of the car for a good 15-20 min. No damn way I was getting back in it now until I knew it was dead! It was around this time that I realized how scared I actually was of spiders b/c while I was chasing it around the car (inside of course) I was shaking so much and crying. Stupid, I know! I managed to squish the crap out of it b/c I was so pissed off at it after about 20 min!! I then had to go back inside work and have a sit down to calm myself down. I'm sure you're laughing at me by now. Once I was calmed, I stood on the drivers side, door open, staring inside for another good 15 min trying to build the courage up to get back inside the car and hope there wasn't another one around. After a few tries of trying to get in, I drove home as fast as I could like I had ants in my pants. I think I was paying more attention on making sure nothing was crawling around or towards me than to the road, I know, not a good thing, but I was just so damn worked up! You could say that I won't be getting back in that car for a while! Thank goodness the Golf got fixed yesterday!!! LOL (I can laugh about it now:)

Work is going ok, still the same. The weather's turned around for the better, let's hope it sticks around for a little while. haha. I say that now, but I'm sure in a few weeks I'll be complaining b/c I'm dying from the heat! :P Dan's enjoying his job. It's about 30km away from home and he's committed to cycle there and home a few times a week, good for him! He's enjoying having his family, dog & bike around again as you could imagine and of course the comforts of home. I'm missing mine, but still doing well :) Missing my friend and family the most! Always. :)

Well, that's it for now. I think you're all caught up on everything :) Email me with an update on your lives if you ever get the chance. Thinking of you all always.

Adorable!

I thought these were pretty adorable so I thought I'd share them with you. It was so funny watching Tonka try to get into the hammock with Dan! He managed to get a running start and the front two paws in, but those back two paws took a little extra effort. I think one of these will have to get framed.

HOLLY SPIDER!

Ok, so I couldn't or sorry, wouldn't get any closer to get a better picture but I think you can get an idea at how stupid big this spider is! Just take a look at the candle and then at the spider, they're nearly the same size!! And this is the same kind of spider I had a run into when I took the recycling out last week! YUK! You could say I dropped everything, did a very girly scream & ran! Then I got Dan to finish putting the recycling out! haha. It was a team effort to get rid of this one too. And I ran just as far as the first time. Not so much a scream this time, just sort of a yelp. I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing these wolf spiders! But at least I know they're harmless, it's the small ones you have to be careful of and the jumping ones. Oh how I miss Canada.

I Can't Believe It!

I can't believe I've been in this country for over a month and a half already!
I can't believe we're nearly halfway through January 2011 already!
I can't believe Christmas and New Years has come and past so quickly!
I can't believe I've been at my new job for 3.5 weeks already!

It's crazy how time flies!

Well the past couple of weeks has been full of work, which I'm still trying to decide whether it's for me or not. Last week went pretty well, but then this week came along and now I'm not too sure again. I suppose I'm trying to make it last until we get our own place to live and then I'll try to find something else that I'm not so up and down about. It's a bit of a love/hate relationship and I don't think it's going to change. So I guess I'll just hang in there for as long as I can. I suppose the pay is what's keeping me going and I can't complain about that!

Fish and chips on the foreshore in Frankston were in store last weekend. Yummy! We enjoyed a stroll along the water, checked out the local Sand Castle competition which was really creep, literally, creepy crawlys and went for dinner and saw Narnia 3D. It was a really nice, chill weekend together! This past weekend was pretty quiet. Too hot on Saturday to do much of anything other than laze around & in the pool and soak in some rays. Then a quiet day yesterday. I believe the market, and a visit to the parents house is in store for this coming weekend. Good times! :D

On a bit of a sadder note, Tonka had to get a button on his eye last week. For those of you who don't know what that is, he had to have one of his eyelids sewn shut b/c he has a scratch on his eye that wasn't healing properly. So they sew it shut and let it heal it's self for 2-3 weeks. We tried a couple of days without a bucket around his head, but he just couldn't keep his paws off, so after a few tries we managed to shimmy up a decent home made bucket. Poor thing! He's not having fun that's for sure! And I know I wouldn't either if I were him.

It seems that Melbourne can't make up its damn mind about what kind of weather it wants to spit out at us. Today is disgustingly wet and muggy, supposed to be all week, let's hope it's just nice for the weekend to come!

Not too much else going on at the moment! Gotta pay off some unwanted bills and save up for our own place until we can party hearty! :) So until then, just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. A nice holiday is in store after all of this though! And I think it will be well deserved! Chow for now.
