New Toy :)

Check out our new toy! :)  Well Dan's the driver, I get to be the passenger :D  It's a Harley Davidson Low Rider (2007 or 08 I think?).  (the pipes are different, Dan got slip-ons put on, so they're shorter and louder:) Super comfy for both of us!  Longer road trips here we come! :)  We've already got one planned this summer down the Great Ocean Road.  It will be gorgeous and so much fun!  Thanks' to my good ol' Dad I love Harley's and love being on the back of one/going for road trips, so luckily Dan's converted! :D  He's like a kid in a candy store with all the different things you can do to it.  He said 'it's like men's lego'  lol!  Pick it up this Friday and the dealership we bought it from arranges group rides all the time, so we'll be included in those if we want to go.  Like I said, should be good fun.  Exciting!

Off to Mount Buller next weekend, it's about a 3-4 hour drive from here.  I'm in snow/ski withdrawal, so time to hit up the hill for half the day.  Really looking forward to it!  It will be weird skiing a mount I've never been on though, I'm so used to skiing the same mount.  Kicking myself for not bringing my skiis/boots back with me from Canada, oh well, will have to rent this year.

We racked the front garden last weekend.  Good fun, NOT.  We've got about 10 trees along the front driveway that drop their needles constantly (and the birds love to kick it up and make a mess of it)!  We usually just sweep them off the driveway into the garden, but unfortunately it was getting a bit full, so we had to empty it out. :(  16 rubbish bags and 4 bin fulls later!  I suppose it hasn't been done since before we moved in and we've been here for over a year now.  Hopefully get away with it for another year :P

I also failed making cupcakes last weekend.  Had a go at with with the sister in-law Narelle, she's good at baking, but the recipe I had didn't really work out.  Over-cooked the base (not burnt, just hard) and the icing was too runny.  LOL!  Apparently I have a few more years to perfect it then I have to make 40 of them for someone's 40th birthday :P

Got Dan's wedding band last week :D  Making me so much more excited for the big day next year!  I will of course get mine soon enough as well, just have to wait for a few more pay cheques, but it matches my engagement ring :)  Off to look at some bridesmaid dresses soon, hopefully pick those out soon enough too.  Other then that, we can't really do too much else until next year, so sit back and relax I suppose.

Well, time to put the feet up after a hard days work.  Love to you all xx

Back To Reality

Well it's official, I need a holiday.  LOL!  I feel like I never left.  What happened to my massive trip to North America??  It feels like a life time ago.

I've managed to fall right back into my role at work and man is it stressful.  Well, maybe not completely stressful, but a lot of pressure, full time work, dealing with both sides of the coin (management and co-workers), you could say work is tiring.  But I do enjoy working for IKEA, they are a great company and the people there are great, so can't complain too much ;)

I can't really say anything too exciting has happened since I've been back.  My birthday's come and gone, worked all day, then had dinner with some family.  Just another day really.  I'm thinking I'm going to book off next year though b/c even if I don't do anything for my birthday, staying home for it is way better than working.

I did a presentation in front of the board last week.  I suppose that is kind of exciting.  The board meeting was all about growth that's happened in the store, going to happen and our new FY13 business plan which will come into action in August.  So I did a little spiel on what kind of growth we've had/having in the restaurant.  Luckily we did a dry run of it the day before the board committee came, so I got to shake off the public speaking cobwebs.  All in all went well, everyone seemed pleased with it.

Dan's work is all in all the same.  He's really getting into his role now as Team Leader, learning the ins and outs of the business and all the fun stuff just like me :)  Junior's been good, I don't think he's grown much bigger for a while.  His new favorite spot in the house is right over top of the ducted heating, too cute, he lies right on top of it so we never get any heat in the living room! :P

I've been pretty sick as of late.  And seem to get sick quite often.  So after dealing with some crap doctors, I finally found one that seems to care a bit more and has helped me out.  I had a blood test yesterday and will get the results next week to see if I'm deficient in anything or if I just have a shotty immune system.  Hopefully it's something that's fixable.

So we're off to look at a Harley Davidson tomorrow.  Well not really look at it as we have already done so and test driven it.  Off to buy it I suppose you could say, as long as we get the price we want.  He's trading in his crotch rocket for a sexy looking Harley.  So who knows, by the end of tomorrow we could be Harley owners! :D  Exciting!!

Well, I suppose it's time to sign off for this time around.  Thinking of all of my family and friends always!  Being sick this last week put me in a bit of a homesick downer, but I'm perking up :)  Always hard to be away from family and friends, especially when I'm sick, but so nice to know that I've got such wonderful people in my life no matter the distance.  Love to you all.  Until next time xxx
